Our Story: From Cloud Kitchen to Winnipeg's West End
Vinni's By Vinayak is a pure vegetarian family kitchen founded by Radhika Chotaliya, a passionate home cook and entrepreneur from Winnipeg's Indian community. The name "Vinni" is a warm, affectionate name used within the family — capturing the homestyle, heart-forward spirit behind every dish we serve. The restaurant is built around Radhika's own recipes: authentic Gujarati cuisine prepared from scratch, with options for Swaminarayan and Jain diets.
Before opening on Sargent Avenue, Radhika operated @vinnis.kitchen as a home-based cloud kitchen in Winnipeg — building a devoted following through pre-orders, festival specials, and freshly made mithai (Indian sweets). Word spread quickly through seasonal offerings for Diwali, Raksha Bandhan, and community gatherings, until demand outgrew the home kitchen.
In April 2026, we opened our first brick-and-mortar home at 726 Sargent Ave, one of Winnipeg's most diverse culinary corridors. The West End — spanning Daniel McIntyre, Sargent Park, Wolseley, Minto, and St. Matthews — is a natural home for our kitchen. We serve Unlimited Gujarati Thali ($12.99), Unlimited Punjabi Thali ($14.99), Fafda Jalebi, Undhiyu, Khandvi, Paneer Butter Masala, Dal Dhokli, and traditional Indian sweets — all 100% vegetarian. Open daily from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
At Vinni's By Vinayak, every plate is a taste of home. From Radhika's secret spice blends to slow-simmered Gujarati dal and freshly made mithai, we cook the way it was always meant to be — pure, wholesome, and full of love.
